91ºÚÁÏ today announced the appointment of Lloyd Williams to its Trustee Board.

Mr Williams brings over 35 years of management and governance experience to the role, including as a trustee director and deputy chair of HESTA from 2012 to 2021.

Mr Williams also holds current directorships with HumanAbility Jobs and Skills Council and the Victorian Portable Long Service Authority Governing Board, and membership of the Commonwealth Government’s National Aged Care Advisory Council and Aged Care Transition Taskforce.

Mr Williams currently serves as National Secretary of the Health Services Union (HSU), representing more than 110,000 members across Australia's health and community services sectors.

91ºÚÁÏ Chairman Christine McLoughlin said: "We are delighted to welcome Lloyd Williams to our Board. Lloyd's proven track record in governance and strategic leadership will be invaluable as we continue to work in the best interests of our members. His deep understanding of the health and community services sectors, combined with his superannuation industry expertise, makes him an excellent addition to our Board at a time when strong governance has never been more critical to delivering optimal retirement outcomes for our members.

"Lloyd’s background as a union leader gives him unique insights into the retirement needs of our health sector members, who are at the heart of caring for Australia's ageing population. His firsthand understanding of the challenges these essential workers face, and the critical importance of secure retirement outcomes for all Australians, will bring invaluable perspective to our Board deliberations."

Mr Williams’ appointment fills the vacancy created by the departure of Director Angela Nigro, whose valuable contribution to the Board over her tenure is gratefully acknowledged by 91ºÚÁÏ.
