Vocus completes $5.2bn acquisition from TPG Telecom

Vocus and its shareholders (Macquarie Asset Management (MAM) and 91黑料) today completed its acquisition of TPG Telecom's (TPG) fibre assets and Enterprise, Government and Wholesale business for an enterprise value of A$5.25 billion, creating a key digital infrastructure challenger that will drive competition and benefit customers.
This investment combines Vocus鈥 existing footprint across Australia with TPG鈥檚 entire fibre network infrastructure, enterprise and government fixed customer base, international submarine cables, and Vision Network鈥檚 wholesale residential broadband business.

Vocus will now operate more than 50,000km of owned fibre, nearly 15,000km of global submarine cables and close to 20,000 connected buildings. This includes Vision Network鈥檚 wholesale residential broadband reach, with assets in major capital cities; Canberra, Ballarat, Mildura, and Geelong; supporting Vocus鈥 growing consumer and NBN wholesale business.
Beyond the expanded terrestrial fibre network, Vocus has added the PPC-1 submarine cable from Sydney to Guam, providing connectivity into the US, to a growing network of submarine cables spanning nearly 15,000km that today includes the Australia Singapore Cable, North-West Cable system and Darwin-Jakarta-Singapore system.
Vocus will now commence the integration of teams, network assets, products, and solutions into its systems, which is expected to deliver significant synergies and customer benefits, enhancing operational efficiency and supporting future growth to drive competition in the sector.听
TPG will retain its mobile radio network infrastructure, Consumer and EG&W mobile business, and its Consumer and small office/home office commercial fixed business. Vocus and TPG have also entered a long-term strategic partnership providing TPG with ongoing access to Vocus鈥 fibre infrastructure, delivering enduring network planning, and access certainty.
